Rio Carnival Parades 2009 – Samba Schools, Dates and Locations of Parades

Going to Rio for Carnival in 2009? If you are visiting the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ you’ll probably want to buy expensive tickets for the fabulous parades of the Grupo Especial Schools. But there are many other smaller and less well resourced samba schools parading over carnival weekend, and some of the parades do not charge entrance fees. Here is a full list of all of the samba schools and their parades, including all of the free ones. The author has been participating in Rio carnival for over a decade.
